With two full time MOT testers on site, we are able to accommodate up to 8 MOTs per week day. Our MOT testers have 60 years experience in the trade combined, so you know you are in safe and well practiced hands. The test takes 45 minutes – 1 hour and we will inform you if there is any additional work required in order for your vehicle to pass its MOT.
How the MOT test works:
During the MOT, important parts on your vehicle will be checked to make sure they meet the legal standards and it is road worthy.
You can read more about what’s tested for cars here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/car-parts-checked-at-an-mot/car-parts-checked-at-an-mot
Good to know:
- The test does not cover the condition of the engine, clutch or gearbox.
- You will be unable to drive your vehicle away from the test centre if there are any dangerous defects recorded.
- If a vehicle should fail on major defects, you have 10 working days to get the repairs done either at the test centre or at another reputable garage to qualify for a retest. After 10 working days, a new MOT test will have to be carried out at the full MOT test rate.
- MOT partial retests may be chargeable up to half the cost of a full MOT test
